It is said that Agnostics say “we can’t know anything”.
Actually, the truth is different. Nobody is ‘agnostic’ as if it were some general label that fits over one’s entire life, but people are ‘agnostic’ with regard to specific claims which they feel cannot be ‘known’ with certain knowledge (gnosis).
I am not agnostic as to my cat’s name, but I am agnostic as to the nature and existence of God.
